Job #417: Army Fleet Support, Custom UH-72 Lakota Helicopter Transport Trailer

This hydraulically operated, bumper pull trailer was designed for transporting the UH-72 Lakota helicopter.

Features Include:

• 24’ long x 9’ Wide load deck (between trailer outer rails)
• Flat deck raises and lowers hydraulically
• Deck lowering and raising system incorporates a fail-safe locking mechanism
• Deck mounted skid stops with micro switches (to prevent loading the aircraft too far forward)
• All steel construction, including steel fenders 
• Two (2)  7K axles
• Twin torsion axle suspension
• 14,000 GVWR
• 10,000 lb. payload
• 17.5” wheels and tires suitable for on and off road use
• Hydraulic surge brakes
• Spare tire and wheel with mount
• Heavy duty tongue jack
• Adjustable height coupler heads
• Pintle and ball coupler
• Safety chains
• Hydraulic reservoir with sight gauge to verify fluid level.  
• Heavy duty roller system with two (2) rows of 20” long skid rollers; three (3) entry rollers mounted in a tilt-axis cradle
• Nylon skid protector strips on outer frame rails to prevent damage to sides of the skids
• 8,000 lb. front mounted winch, w/ web strap “cable” &  “dead man” switch
• Two flashing amber LED lights at rear, work lights and regulation DOT lighting/markers 
• Aircraft can be loaded with the tow vehicle in “park” position
• Eight (8) each floor mounted tie down rings
• On board sealed and shielded battery system with electric and solar charger/maintainer
• Central control panel, with shield to protect operator
• Spreader Bar-Sling Towing Assembly; two-point system, allows connecting the aircraft without crawling under it
